Stock boat plans have been around since the USA Propeller magazine introduced them as a featue in the 1930's. Over the years the content of a plan set has standardised with the various suppliers to mean a plan set generallyconsisting of the following sheets of drawings.

Lines plan and offset table giving the shape of the craft

Full size patterns for smaller craft

Appearance plan or side profile

Arrangement plan generally a sectional elevation on the centreline and various plan views and sections showing where major items are positioned

A structural plan in various plan views, longitudinal sections and transverse sections along with special details clearly showing the construction

A building gig or building set up drawing

A simplified table of offsets such that the only full size drawing or lofting that is required is for the transverse sections and stem profile

Shaft and rudder details

Pumping and piping drawings as applicable

Boden Boat Plans will provide additional information at no cost or at modest additional cost if the builder considers that he needs further clarification.

We also are pleased to be able to provide on going support via email while you are building. Typical questions are generally about engine and propeller sizes. For example " I have an opportunity to buy a Cummins 6BT with a 1.5:1 reduction gearbox. Will it be suitable?"

However we get all types of questions.  Answering is part of the service we provide.

Please read the conditions of sale in the "Our Committment" section of this website also there is an extensive question and answer section.
