Superb multichine hull shape with long keel and rudder hung from stern post as in the Cilin Archer tradition. These designs are renowned for their seaworthyness and ease of sailing with a minimum of crew and self steering.

The large cockpit is 70% covered by a doghouse with the engine under the cockpit.

Engine shown in stock oplan is a 50hp Yanmar with a 2:1 reduction gearbox swinging a two bladed 700mm propeller

There a a lot of Colin Archer style designs about. Most are in timber and often requiring extensive maintenance, This steel version has a lot to offer the serious cruising yachtsman who wants a boat that reflects his own character and attitude to life.

I am interested in purchasing a PDF study plan. When will it be available?

I also would like to change the rig. Can I get a two masted Chinese Junk(Lug) Rig with each sail area around 450 sq. ft. or a single mast with a 850 sq. ft. sail?

This would eliminate all standing rigging making the boat less expensive to build. Additionally, it allows me to make the sails myself with simple flat cuts. Also, the
Chinese Junk rig will lower the center of effort resulting in a stiffer boat with less heel. All running rigging would be brought into the doghouse for complete sail control without the need to come out on deck. The boat could be sailed from the doghouse.

I am an experienced boatbuilder in steel. I plan on purchasing the plans to this design.
